Together we can make a difference!
The Environmental Committee will continue the "Free the Girls" project to fight human trafficking. Last year, the WCOM was successful in collecting over 100 bras to contribute to this worthwhile project.
"When women support each other incredible things happen"
Free the Girls is an international (501(c)(3) non profit organization devoted to assisting sex trafficking survivors with a path to freedom. Their goal for true freedom is measured by economic freedom, restored health, social well-being, education and opportunity for a different, hopeful future. With holistic reintegration programs and economic opportunity through bras, these woman can empower themselves to change the trajectory of their lives.
By donating your new or gently used bras, you're giving economic opportunity for these women to start their own businesses by selling bras in their local second hand clothing markets while they recover and rebuild their lives.
This organization currently operates in Maputo, Mozambique; San Salvador, El Salvador; and San Jose. Visit their website, www.freethegirls.org to learn more.
